As a life-long teacher and learner, teaching is my utmost priority in my position at UNL. As a part of the music education departments here, I am able to assist students in gaining experience and expertise in choral music education and inclusive music education. Since many of my students are at the precipice of becoming teachers themselves, it is important that they have the opportunity to synthesize what they have already learned about successful music teaching and to continue to refine their skills as musicians and music educators. While supervising practicum students and student teachers, I have the incredible opportunity to work with students in actual elementary/secondary settings. Through my teaching and through various classroom activities, it is my goal that students develop skills as successful educators, with a focus on effective teaching, current curricular trends in education, classroom management, and administration and management of a successful music program.
